new cell phone

Steve and I renewed our cell phone plan last night, so I was able to get a new phone. It is brown. I like it a lot. I am not sure if I like the phone, or just the fact that it is brown. I really like brown. Can you tell?? :)

Busy week

This has been one busy week for us. Steve had seminars Monday night, Tuesday night, Thursday night, and this morning. Wednesday night was the UNC/Wake game for me. Friday night was Homecoming at Salem. Saturday night is a reception for one of my former students who got married over Christmas break. It has been totally crazy. I am looking forward to next week when I will be able to actually see Steve and spend some time with him.

Go Heels!

Tonight is the night of the annual meeting between the North Carolina Tarheels and the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. My father-in-law is taking me to the game. It was one of my Christmas presents. I am sad that Steve and Josiah will not be there with me to enjoy it. I decided to try to make it up to Josiah today by getting him in the spirit of things. He seemed to enjoy the pregame pep rally that we had here at home. (Steve on the other hand, would not have cared for it at all. "Go Hoosiers", he would say!)

Baby

When I woke up this morning, the first thing I thought was "It sure would be cool if my friend Sarah had her baby today." So Sarah, if you are reading this.... :)

Other than that, I have company coming for lunch. It is the lady that was my teachers aid last year. I miss seeing her and talking with her, so it should be fun to get together. Steve has another seminar tonight, so I will probably just sit and watch American Idol by myself until he gets home. Or I might take a bubble bath....we shall see.

Go Colts!

For reasons I won't mention, I don't like the Patriots.
I was very excited to see the Colts win last night.
They are Steve's second favorite team. That's because he grew up in Indiana. Whatever makes him happy makes me happy.
His friend Scott, that he grew up with, and Scott's family came over and watched the game and ate pizza with us. The weather was too bad for them to go to church, you know!!

Now the preparations will begin for a huge Superbowl party. It will be nice because at least this year there is a team for us to pull for instead of just pulling against, mainly the Patriots!

I just need to decide what food to fix...that is my favorite part anyway!! :)

One busy Saturday

First of all, after a late night of scrapbooking at Judi's, I got up this morning at 7:00 (*groan*), got ready and went to a knife skills class at Williams Sonoma. I learned a couple of new things. First off, how to correctly dice an onion. Secondly, never put your knives in a dishwasher. Needless to say, it was worth it just for those couple tidbits of information.
I then scurried off to the library (after a quick stop at Chick-fil-a for breakfast) to meet Steve and Josiah. Steve had a seminar this morning, and we decided that we would start educating Josiah on mutual funds early so we took him along. Funny thing though, he slept through Steve's part of the seminar. Sorry daddy!! :)
Then the group went to Applebees for lunch. I ordered the Fiesta Lime Chicken combo...not for the chicken though...I just wanted the dessert. The Maple Walnut Blondie! YUMMY!!
Ran home for a quick nap, before going to Walmart with my mom.
Came home, unpacked the groceries and then went with Steve to drop the boy off at my parents' house.
We then went on a date to C's Barbecue. It was delicious. I really wasn't too hungry since I had such a big lunch, but it still tasted good.
Came home and did my Bible study on "The Princess" and now I am ready for bed.
Sorry there isn't anything funny to tell today....maybe tomorrow!!

Snow day

So we had a "snow day" yesterday. Not a whole lot of snow, but enough that I didn't have to go in and teach home ec. yesterday. I was glad for the day off. Not that my job is hard, but it was a cooking day. That means I have to get all the stuff together to make whatever, including all the utensils. It really ends up being a lot to do.

I decided that I would make good use of my day and get the house cleaned. Well, that didn't happen. I did make some cookies though!! YUM!

I took Josiah out in his new snowsuit. I bought it a long time ago and it still had the tags on it. I was going to be really upset if he didn't get to wear it at least once. So I put it on him and he loved being in it. Once we got outside in the snow, his excitement faded. He didn't really like the feeling of the snow falling on his face. I did help him make a snow angel in the little bit of snow that was on the ground. I also took pictures to put in his scrapbook.

Here is one that I will share with you.....

Can you see the snow angel??
Oh, and I almost forgot. When I was leaving to go meet Steve for dinner before his seminar last night, I saw a deer standing in our backyard from the garage window. I stood there for a minute looking, and then another deer appeared. And then another....and before you knew it, there were NINE deer standing in our backyard. It was absolutely amazing. I didn't want to leave. I just wanted to stand there and admire their beauty.

I made a blog!!

Okay, so someone told me I needed to make a blog. Here is it. It actually wasn't too hard to make. Pretty simple in fact. I think the hard part will be trying to keep up with it. Hopefully I will. I should be able to since it seems like I am always dinking around on the computer doing something.

Anyhow, because of the massive snowdrifts outside, school was cancelled. I am planning to relax today and get some things done around the house. I hopefully will also get a nap this afternoon. When was the last time that happened??!!??

Gotta go get started on my big plans.....
